I am so flippin’ hot!
That is a comment on my body temperature, not an inflated self esteem. It is ridiculous outside. It’s so bad that every five minutes someone posts another picture of their car thermometer. By the way I get it, 109 looks shocking when you see it on your dashboard. Actually I keep telling people that my car is the only place I can be comfortable. I won’t dare think what would happen if the air didn’t work in there. My apartment {located on a third floor with window units only} is only cool in whatever rooms have the air on. Which is only 2 because otherwise you’ll blow a fuse. Guess that keeps the ComEd bill in check…not really, but I tell myself that. As for work I must say am lucky to be in an air conditioned office. However, my office shares a wall with the factory, and that portion is not air-conditioned which makes it toaster for me. I really can’t complain though because can you imagine working on your feet all day with big machines next to you and no air conditioning!? No I can’t either and I watch my co-workers do it every day.
I come home from work and don’t want to do anything. Cooking is too hot, laundry requires drying and that is too hot, my laptop blows hot air on me, I won’t even blow dry my soaking wet hair after a shower. It’s air dry only for me! The poor kitties just lounge around on the cool surfaces of the apartment and do their best ‘playing dead’ impressions. They make me worry, but Dave reminds me that cats originally came from the jungle and they can take the heat. I regularly pick them up and plop them by a water dish to make sure they stay hydrated anyway. Dave sent this picture to me which is funny, but I’ve never seen my kitties do it. Wish I could do that all day. Instead I will dream of fall and all the lovely cool weather that will come along with it. Sorry Summer, my love for you is gone.
